At noon on 4th May more than a dozen of activists of Workers' Initiative, dismissed DAD workers supported by members of Anarchist Federation organized a protest rally at DAD Polska premises. Last week, the management of the company illegally fired four activists of the WI trade union shortly after they got an information that there was a union formed in their company.
This time, activists of WI not only protested in front of the company, but they also got into the premises of the factory, handing out leaflets in the workshops, and informing the workers about the situation by the megaphone. Then, the unionists got into the office of the boss of the company Claude Verschelden. During the conversation they demanded to bring back the dismissed activists to work. The boss denied to comment on the dismissal of the union activists both to the members of WI and to the media.
In the meantime more and more security and police forces were coming to the factory. After an hour the protesters finished the action.
The action was met with huge approval from the work crew, which has been constantly threatened so far. Few workers called to the WI and said that the action made them feel better. Although the boss announced to fire more people, nobody was sacked today. DAD Polska is still repressing the union activists.
